    Hi chrisf6969,

I ideally wanted to keep my ratio at 1:1 but my memory is REALLY hungry, runs best @2.9/2.95 but our mboards only give 2.8 (and undervolt by 0.04).
I have tried 5:4 but I was using 260fsb so my mem was only @ 416mhz, not earthshattering. Also this was with a stock heatsink and fan (and 58C under load), so I didn't want to push it !?!
About Sisoft mem scores, 5900Mb/s with DDR400 is awesome. I get 6200Mb/s with DDR520.
My sound doesn't click though, I've heard this when the PCI bus is overclocked (ie not locked @ 33mhz), can mess with soundcards etc.

got my PCI bus locked, but it may have to do with the FSB being at 300Mhz FSB, and it goes from 300 to 301 (realtime monitering it) and I really think something happens to PCI & AGP buses over 300Mhz so maybe that slight variation (spread spectrum) is whats causing it. too late to worry about now already bought an Audigy. Just wondering since you're still using onboard.

    I wish I had some PC4000 at 300Mhz FSB & 4:5 ratio 240Mhz (DDR480) would be sweet. (DDR400 vs DDR480 = 20% faster ram)... maybe my 5900Mb/s * 1.2 = 7000Mb/s?

I think the best I've seen was around 6900 for someone running something like that.

    Hi chrisf6969,

That's why I asked earlier what bios you are using cos I think the 1.8 fixes the 300mhz barrier, I may be wrong tho........maybe you could reach 3??fsb with that chip

Oooh, just out of interest, what is your northbridge chipset temp? I only ask cos my'n is about 45C under load and I think that's what's stopping me oc better

REALLY!?!??!!?!?! I've been asking around about the 300Mhz barrier. I guess I will be upgrading BIOSwhen I get home!! I'm betting I get about 3.7Ghz!! if it truly fixes it! BTW I can boot at 305, 310, 315, etc.... but the AGP is just wacked. When I try the auto overclock thing in coolbits, it underclocks the vidcard lower than its defaults and nothing 3D works with out errors.

I didnt see any mention of it in BIOS notes.

The closest thing I see is v17:
    Version: 17 Released Date: 2003-09-03
Enhanced the system stability when over clocks the CPU FSB over 255 MHz with CPURAM = 1:1 setting.

Sorry mate, that must have been what I was thinking of, but they have released a new bios rev 1.8, quite a few improvements, I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Im actually scared to upgrade since everything is working perfectly at 300Mhz FSB I've heard of a few people complaining of not being able to OC the same after upgrading BIOSes... They probably just cleared the CMOS and didnt reset everything the same. But sometimes BIOS try to get better memory scores and are too aggressive one way or another. I want someone who knows for sure if it cures the 300Mhz wall problem.
