Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it only the 512MB version of the Gainward 7800GS Bliss that has the 20 pipeline 7800GT core, while the 256MB version is just a regular 7800GS? Hence the 512MB version is about £280, while the 256MB version is £210.

They have two versions of the 7800gs bliss? That's annoying. 'Bliss' was meant to indicate their top range, what's the point if you have a top range and then a top range ontop of that?
(Do they even have a 256 bliss model?)
edit: ah yes they do.. they actually have three 'bliss' 7800GS models.
Looks like the one at micro is the lowest of them, just the normal pipes, not 20. Still a good card, but not the mega one.

yer the 512 has the 20 pixel pipes, thats the 'fastest agp card in the world' as they say. Umm considering that the 256mb version has the 16 pipes then I might as well get the XFX version? As this gainward is soooo rare, some guy said there are only 1000 in Europe but I don't know how true that actually is!

If you HAVE to get an AGP card, and you really want something REALLY good.. then just go for the BLISS 512MB.. Its effectively a 7800GT on steroids..
But for the money you're paying for Overclockers, you can easily get a PCI-E motherboard + a PCI-E 7900GT standard minus the steroids and be gone with it.
Me want Ultrabook
What is the point of getting a 7800gt if you can buy a mobo andtd 7800 gt?
I have got the XFX 7800gs xt card great for agp got it hooked up to a Hiper type R 580watts great PSU.
The hiper PSU is a great PSU to go for, no faults at all!

Corsair 450W VX 450W PSU
Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB
lol this is never ending!!does a 7800GT pci-e have the same power as a agp 7800!!?
a 7800 gt pcie has more processing power than a 7800 gs, the gt has 20 pipes, the gs has 16
Heh, you're in the same position as a friend of mine.
Do you buy the slightly inferior 7800gs for £200, or get a Asus P4V800D-X (skt478 mobo with pci-e and agp slots) + a proper 7800GT for the same price? Sounds like a no-brainer.
Except now that you've upgraded the motherboard you're thinking of going with a more future-proof CPU socket, which requires new CPU, RAM, etc. Of course conroe & AM2 are just around the corner, so all current CPU sockets will soon be a dead end.
Best to just go with the mobo+pci-e graphics I guess.
^ Ha exactly! Lol I don't know what to do! They just brought out the Gainward BLISS 7800GS Silent 512MB GS+!!!!
Its the second edition "Second time arround is always better! Famous BLISS 7800GS 512MB AGP is back and improved.
The last one was based on GeForce 7800GT GPU, this one will surprise you even more....."
I wonder what has changed? Does anyone have any information on it?

Yeah it's based on the 7900GT this time
^ <gulp>! erm ok so this frikkin gfx is never ending lol! can anyone suggest a socket 478 mobo with pci-e as I think this is the way!

Should be a good one.
BTW the Gainward 7800 GS+ sounds like even more of a rip-off than the previous one. If you go the PCI-e route you would save about £100
Yer thats what I thought I just bought it with another 512mb ram and a Hiper 580 Type-R PSU like recomended! I still don't have a graphics card!
u will be plesantly pleased with ur PSU m8, now u just gotta find a GFX card to compliment it!
