hmmm.. new board and gfx card

got a cheap IBM thinkcentre with an Intel 640 3.2ghz CPU...

Ive decided i want it to replace my Barton 2800+ as the primary gaming machine... gonna replace the CPU with a celeron D 2.6ghz (3xx something) and then sell it on as im wanting something for a few titles (BF2 is i ever buy it and CSS possibly Quake Wars if its any good).

I've always used MSI boards (not fond as A-Bit as we had a fall out when i had a P3) nor am i Fond of Asus..

Ive looked at Scans website and noticed Foxconn are making a bit of a name for themselves..

now do i go for NF4 or an intel Chipset? im not bothered about supporting the new conroe chips (as these boards seem to be priced in the £130+ range, and it might not even support it)

DDR2 doesnt seem anything special so ill be happy with DDR..

SLI?? hmmm dont think ill need to use more than one card.. nor do i want an Uber 1337 card noticed the ATi x600 are quite cheap but dont know if im better off with a value nVidia instead..

    Anyone got any ideas?

I don't think you can discount Abit, one of the world's larger motherboard manufacturers, purely for an incident with a ~ 10 year old motherboard...

Scan's Foxconn/Opteron/1 gig Ram deal is sorely tempting for you then?

That plus a PCI express card and you'll die of shock at the power
