    overclocking a P4

    Hi Guys/Gals


    Im a noob when it comes to overclocking, ive recetly purchased a P4 3.0Ghz 800FSB CPU and I want to overclock it. Does anyone know any websites that have step by step instructions as to how to overclock a P4? pref with pictures (as I have zero imagination) Cheers

    have you ever used google?

    just type "p4" and "overclocking" into it. it will give you thousands of hits of forums, sites, faqs and software.

    Use the search button above.

    Do that. Try it on your chip. Post back with more specific problems/questions.

    Go into the BIOS and see how far you can get the front side bus (fsb) this will overclock your CPU. Intels have locked the multipler on their processers so the only way to overclock is to use the front side bus.

    What board is it?
    what RAM is it?
    What cooling do you have?

    Some more information wil help people to give you the expected the overclock of that P4.
