Old computers - how did they do it?

They kinda got on my nerves for one reason or another.

Blasphemy! Handy thing about them in schools is that the OS (RISC OS) was stored on a ROM, so that the kids couldn't tamper with it.

RISC-OS ruled.
Seriously. I loved that OS.

I remember getting a win95 machine in year 6. I was the one that taught the teachers to play that wicked skiing game.

The Acorns are brilliant (they live on). Very stable, quick just everything about them was is great.

Also the OS was (I heard) written in several languages taking solid stable bits from each.
