    More Power!!

    Hey Guys,

Narrowed my power supply search down to 2 power supplies, both by Antec. One's the 480 watt and the other's the 550 watt. The 480 watt is part of the true blue series with the blue LED's in it. The 550 is just a normal power supply. Just curious as to what you guys feel I should get. Is 550 watts over kill? Oh yeah, there is only about $20 canadian dollars seperating them.

    Thanx

    hmmm

480 should do it, esp of antec quality. If its the cheaper, go for it!
    20 bucks is 20 bucks

Do you want a pretty Bloo PSU or an over-kill 550 monster?
Pretty much up to you I guess..

I plumped for a nice 550watt enermax with the nice dark blue finish myself

I don't know much about high-end PSU's, but I got a Q-tec 550W dual fan PSU for just over £20 recently and it seems fine

Nah, I would go with antec over enermax, and I would go blue over 550w If you have the money either will be a superb buy!

Hehe, ok... I agree tho, I would go for Antec over Enermax. I think Enermax used to be the best, but Antec are the daddy's now

Im sure its something to do with the way the power is made for each line....

As far as i know the antec generates power for the 3 rails independantly... whereas the enermax's share and split up the power created from a single source across the rails

I could be totally wrong here but this is my very basic understanding of whats going on inside the little boxy things that you put power cables into

The qtec one seems good, not too noisy, but if you want an antec PSU just buy a CWT from www.scan.co.uk antecs are simply rebadged CWT's

That is, unless you really like the pretty LED's that much

I have heard nothing but good stuff about the antecs. I personally have an Enermax 460w which is nothing less then ownage

I had a qtec, they were good but shoddy fans. One of them started playing up and I was wussy and didnt wanna change it myself so i splashed 80 quid on the enermax.

If u get qtec i wud replace the fans before u use it.

LOL, ok guys you gotta love the Antec/Enermax debate going on here, but I was looking for opinions on whether to go blue 480 watt or non-blue 550 watt. Thanks again.
