Depends on how much you want to overclock and how muc noise you want to make. I just use a twin fan psu and a 7v low noise fan in the front and I have no problems ocing my 2500+ to 3200+ and running a zalman heatpipe on my ti4200 (oc to 300/600). I'm also using a coolermaster 80mm low noise sleeve bearing fan on the alpha pal 8045 heatsink. Currently at 45 degrees celcius on the cpu so I must be doing something right.

I own a PC that changes regularly, so I don't bother putting anything in here...

ibm/hitachi ide drives are the flavour of the month with exelent speed and good reliability compared to the older ibm ide drives.

The corsair is a gr8 suggestion as i used some while i was waiting for my mushkin to be r,m,a,d and was completely astonished by its performance.

The nf7/s would be a good selection if u are overclocking but tbh the asus is a lot more stable and o/c quite well.

I don't have any problems with my WD IDE drive
doesn't seem noisy either but it is next to two case fans
and it's on vibration free grommits
but the SATA ones are nice and fast
I would splash out and get a nice one for the main system HDD and then get a normall IDE one for storage
    well maybe
if you have spare cash, certainly get a 9700pro or 9800 instead of the 9600, that will give you a speed boost
get memory that will run at 200fsb and a board that can do the same

guys the best P-ATA hdd out atm is the Hitachi...I recently got the 120gb Dekstar GXP180 and its far faster and far quieter than my WD JB800 (dont be worried by the fact Hitachi used to be IBM, more than the name has changed. Top class hdds now)
