No case will be able to beat the Akasa for build quality, internal look and ease of access.

It looks gorgeous once the system has been built, plenty of room to tuck everything out of sight, and with some lighting in there it looks even better. OK it's not the cheapest case out there, neither is the P180. Just get either Akasa or Sharkoon fans.

    Old Shot

    Goregous!

    Gorgeous 2!

Hopefully that might sway you to the dark side...... of the moon

(Sorry about quality of second two shots, used the phone)

Madafwo, I am sorely tempted to stray to the dark side after that

Sadly though, the Akasa would not look like that without loving attention and a bit of extra dosh spent on it. Although my intentions would be good I just know that I'd not get around to getting it to look the way it is supposed to. The P180 is the lazy mans Akasa Eclipse 62 it would appear.

I shall give it some more thought though - maybe I can still be turned

Not really that much extra to get it looking decent, the lights cost a fiver, for 2 cold cathodes, and I have some blue LED's in there too but you can't see those with the lights on.

Fans, I got Akasa as I am well, and I admit this, a fan boy, i wasn't at first but their equipment is just such a high standard, but looks like they are beaten by Sharkoon.

The window isn't that much more expensive either. I couldn't imagine putting my system in any other case apart from this now.

It's an Akasa Fan Control Jr. only costs about £8, controls 3 fans (I have two fans on one channel, so 4 really) and gives you 2 USB ports. It's simple, it does what it says it will, I couldn't be happier.

To answer your question Dancing Matt,

"As Lu-tze says, the front panel on the P180 has now been updated, so any case you buy in the future should have the same triple layering (aluminium on the inside as well) as the rest of the case."

    i.e. it's far less flimsy.

There's also been a thread on the 7900GX2 w/ P180 somewhere around Hexus IIRC.

However, if you're not using the upper hard drive bays, then you can simply remove the top rack, and your GX2 should have no problems fitting whatsoever.

Can anything beat the P180 for looks, cooling and noise in the same budget?
Managed to find the Lexa in Yoyotech on Tottenham Court Road yesterday. From the front it's a big ol' mirror thing, more chrome than shiny brushed metal, a lot less appealing than I expected.

From the side, not nearly as big as I expected.

That doesn't sound too good dancingmatt

I've still not made a decision on this though (I know, I know ... just get on with it already). I found another case to compare against but I don't know how good a comparison it is. I can get a Lian Li PC7B Plus in black complete with drive bezels for less than the Antec P180B costs. Anybody got any experience of this case? I assume it will be louder ... but how much louder? Is the Antec still the best bet?
