You don't want NCQ. NCQ = performance disadvantage.

In everycase bar one (seagate drive I think), turning NCQ on reduces the performance of a hard drive.

The only gain from NCQ is when you have a job queue getting beyond 4 or so, a scenario you never really see in a single user scenario (even with dual core).

Note you should still be able to run an NCQ capable drive without NCQ, depending on motherboard, but NCQ should not be something you actually look for in a drive.
