Advice Please - HTPC setup ideas?

    Greetings!
I want to get rid of my 14" portable TV, DVD player and Hi Fi and replace these with my PC. At the moment I have the TV sound going through the Hifi so I get reasonable stereo sound with a good bass etc. I want to re-create this with the pc.
This will allow me to use the PC as: mp3 player, cd player, TV, DVD player, radio and alarm clock. (and as a PC) Would I be able to plug my VCR into a TV card?

    The PC spec:
    AMD opteron 165 (2200MHz)
    2 x 512 Geil DDR
    Asrock dual Sata2
    BFG 6600GT
    seasonic PSU
    DVD player
    CDRW

These Items I have which I think will help:
    New 160GB Sata2 Hard drive
    19" Benq FP91G+ tft monitor

So the questions is, what do you guys reccomend (speakers, TV card, etc)for me to fullfill this project.?
I'm always on a tight budget, though nothing specific for this. Just generally trying to keep costs down!

    Cheers.

    Dave

Why not get bigger HDD? currently the most bang for buck size is around 250-320GB models. The samsung drives are good price for its performance.

I've already got the 160 to add to the 80GB. Should do the job I think?

Any one with ideas about what sort of speakers to get??
