    set this

"Dram Write recovery time = 6"

    to 5

unless you are going over 800mhz, you dont need to run 2.1v, your ram is rated at 1.9v i beleive (same as mine).

If you put all your settings to stock, do you still get errors in memtest? just run test 5 for a couple of hours at least.

Why would tightening the write recovery time increase stability?

    spec sheet says 2.1v for 4-4-4-12 @ 800

I'd try 2.15v, or loosen the timings slightly.

Didnt manage time to test the memories separately, but using both in 3 hours whit memtest i had 6 errors: one in test 4, one in test 6 and four in test 7.

I think clunk might be right regarding the voltage had a look in corsair’s forums and for another Asus mobos ( the P5W series if I am not wrong ) they recommended not to increase the voltage more than 2.1V they also said that 1.9v should be a good working voltage. They also have some tests with my motherboard and they use 1.9V during them.

Didn’t have any reboot up till now but I am kind of busy and didn’t use the pc that much still I had a few random application errors, that’s probably because when I installed XP I was still using the SPD automatic bios timings and it should be corrupted.

Trial and error. Test any reasonable ideas untill you find a combination that gets no errors, ever, in memtest.

Try the sticks separately like you were going to, and see if the chipset is overheating.

2.1v is perfectly safe and within warranty specifications for that memory. Since you are trouble shooting, I would suggest 2.1v to eliminate the possibility of low Vdimm. Also, did you try the settings recommended at the Corsair forum? I linked a thread above to other users having P5B issues.

    EDIT: P5B Thread Link

I'd try 2.15v, or loosen the timings slightly.
With that value at 6, i get errors in memtest, test number 5. With the value set to 5, it will run for days without errors (and has done). The recommended voltage for those sticks is 1.9v up to 800mhz and no more than 2.1v thereafter.
Of course, you can add more voltage, but why would you want/need to add more voltage to something to make it run at it's stock settings?

    I have found these settings to be useful, this was taken from Corsair's own support forums on House of help;

    Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-6400C4:
    Twin2x2048-6400C4 Data Sheet

Motherboard make and model: Asus P5WD2 or M2N32-SLI Premium/Deluxe
Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings:
    AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual
CPU External Frequency: Manually set to 200MHz
DDR2 SDRAM Clock: Manually set to 800MHz
    PCI Express Freq: Auto
    PCI Freq: 33.33
    DRAM Timing Selectable: Manual
    SDRAM CAS Latency: 4T
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4T
    SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4T
SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 12T
    SDRAM Write Recovery Time: 5
    DDR2 SDRAM Voltage: 1.9
    CPU Core Voltage: Auto
FSB Termination V: 1.50 V (keep this auto)
MCH Chipset V: 1.65V (keep this auto)
ICH Chipset V: 1.20V (keep this auto)
All other settings are motherboard defaults.
Maximum DDR2 recommended VDIMM: 2.1 Volts

Obviously, these aren't directly for the P5B, but they work fine.

ok have some time free now so i am going to test the memories separately, hoping it's one of the memories creating the errors at least this way i will know what needs to be done .

I Believe temperatures are not a problem, right now my mobo is at 29C and my CPU at 34C.

Yeah i used the settings on that link yellowbeard but i am still getting errors i had like 6 during four hours test. Another problem is that I have 1 GB Twin2x1024-6400C4 and there are only settings for the 2GB Twin2x2048-6400C4 so i had to use those.

Also if i change the CPU External Frequency to 200MHz won’t I be actually decreasing the clock speed of my processor? Not sure what do I gain by doing that, maybe I am just looking to the wrong setting?

Yes, sorry, that is for another board put the cpu to whatever you had it at.

can you post all your bios settings..all of them. did you say you are on a recent bios?

Sry clunk didnt see your post... yep those are the settings i used they are also in yellowbeard's link. Although i have a lot more errors using SPD i am still get some with those settings.

There is a new version of my bios will probably update it later on, hope it doesn’t reboot or do something funny while I am doing that.

*edit* DAM you clunk you are always faster than me to reply between that i have a very recent version of the bios but like i said above i will get the new one now

Some of the earlier issues with this MOBO related to how it handled dividers. You may want to go ahead and update the bios. Just follow the ASUS flashing instructions if you decide to flash.

Alright did the bios update but i am still getting errors in memtest well to be more precise i got 1 error in 1 hour test.

Regarding the settings here they go:

    ..........................................................
Memory remap feature Disable ( bios default )

Dram CAS latency = 4 (changed it from 5)
Dram RAS to CAS delay =4 (changed it from 5)
Dram RAS Precharge =4 (changed it from 5)
Dram RAS Active to Precha = 12 (changed it from 18)

Dram Write recovery time = 6 ( bios default ) (also tried with 5)
    Dram TRFC = 42 ( bios default )
    Dram TRRD = 10 ( bios default )

    ...................................................................

NB Vcore = Auto ( bios default )
    SB Vcore (sata,PCI E) = Auto ( bios default )

If you remenber anything else that needs to be changed do tell me because i probably didnt change it.

oh i have also disabled legacy USB during memtests since corsair recomends that for my mobo

Suppose those are the settings you are using i will give them a try later on, been doing the tests with so many different settings that i still didn’t try the sticks separately.
Clunck a non related question did you connect the CPU power to 4pins or did you use the full 8pins?
