    Mixing memory & speeds question

Just wondering.. I have a 1gb stick of PC2700 RAM at the mo, I was wondering if I bought a stick of PC3200 but I put the stick in a different channel on the motherboard, would it work as PC3200 speed or would it slow itself down (as usual) to PC2700?

    Thanks

Blitzen is correct, however you should probably go for the PC3200 as the prices are the same as PC2700 and it allows you better scope for getting another PC3200 should you later dispose of the PC2700.
