hi all, noob here, but thought I'd give my thoughts. i have a Dell Dimension 4600, I've found that other than upping the ram to 2GB and the gpu to x800xt AGP card, theres very little you can do with it. Thats why I've joined Hexus, to learn hoow to build my own machine so I don't get caught out with OEM stuff again. Still, as my first ever pc, its got me into the community, and now I'm older and a little wiser

So I'd say, save your money and invest in a new machine rather than throw it down the Dell drain

Aren't most Dells on the BTX chassis these days? Last time I checked that limited your choice of board badly.

Flogging most/all of the Dell and starting again is probably the way to go.
