Corsair PSU with P180 case question

Just checking....... it's logical to put the PSU with the fan facing upwards? Also the partition from psu to main chamber (where all the cables go thru) is it best to take it away to let the psu "breath"?

I am just putting a new build in an Antec P180.

I installed Seasonic S2 650 Energy + (Corsair are built by Seasonics) in the P180 last night. I put te PSU in the 'normal' way (fan at bottom), I did consider putting it the other way but decided against it. The reasoning was that the gap between the fan and the case floor is the same, or similar to the gap between it and the lower chamber roof, colder air is at the bottom of the case, this is the natural orientation for the PSU and its cooling airflow, there is a fan drawing cool air from the front of the case and blowing it down the lower chamber towards the PSU.

Do not take the chamber separater away, it is there to keep the lower chamber separate from the upper chamber and prevent hot air from below getting into the main chamber. I plan to seal it as best I can when the build is finished. It is worth putting extra time and care into this aspect.

The P180 has great airflow and is one of the coolest and quietest cases available. I have put an additional slow, silent 120 fan at the front of the upper disk drive cage to help move air through the main upper chamber and give extra cooling capability to the GPU (8800GTX).

As advised by EtheAv8r leave the chamber separator in place.

Up to you how you put the psu - I would go for whichever is quieter.

Thanks it does, Antec say you can mount a PSU any way.......so it can either suck cold air from the bottom of the computer, or help to suck some hot air from within the centre of the computer (erm which doesnt help the Psu though).

BTW Just switch it around to the fan at the bottom.
