but that would also mean a new motherboard and dont you need registerd mem for these 64 bit jobbies would go like runny something off a shiny shovel thoughOriginally posted by Enverex
Athlon 64-FX obviously . Though by the other ideas, it doesn't sound too out of place.
Shame its not 200fsb but the mobo's to blame for that right. I would be tempted to a go for a decent 17" tft i think
I'm sure he said upgrade...Originally posted by DeludedGuy

And the only worthwhile thing IMO is a better monitor... Nice 19" Iiyama CRT. The're ugly mofo's but the quality is lovely!
Dunno why people love TFTs so much? I used to like them but I've come to realise that they really are naff for moving images, i.e. scrolling text and games (Unless you pay a ridiculous sum of money for one). I played UT2003 on my mate's 21" TFT and it was terrible.
And yes, I'd get some better speakers.
Mission, Kef, anything really nice-sounding!

Kef make some of the most well regarded speakers They're superb.
Mind you I could name hundreds of brands of excellent speakers, those two just popped into my head. Lol.
Mission speakers are better for "noise", i.e. games and movies. They're not bad for music, but not of absolute high quality like for example Kef.

Since it is an upgrade, i would have to say get yourself a 17 inch LG monitor, about £350, my freind has one, its well worth the money with the DVI connection and all.
