There were alot of hoops to jump before they could be sold over seas. They should be available within the next few weeks through some retailers in the UK.

There's been a few sold through private re-sellers, and a few brought over by people spending extended periods of time in europe from the US.

I know we've had tech support call the UK and Germany already.

I have no doubt that the NIC will sell fairly well, I just think it's target audience are being misguided to think that the WinXP TCP/IP stack is anything close to a bottleneck in network I/O to warrent paying silly money. Changing to a better ISP, and getting a high quality router etc would yield much lower latency, and be able to handle a much higher connection count.

Whereas if you were to buy this card, you would still have connection latency/limitation problems because of the router/ISP bottleneck.

Is this likely to see Vista (32 and 64 bit) drivers anytime soon?

Does the Vista TCP IP stack suffer the same issues as you outlined with XP?

No, the Vista TCP/IP stack has been rewritten, so Microsoft claims. The stack was never the problem anyway, it was the bad implimentation of core network clients.

aye, shame they didn't do much/anything for UDP at the same time, considering most online games use UDP as its faster!! Well, in the mmorpg scene anyway, not sure about those fps types, but imagine the same would hold true.

Just think, if it was all rewritten perfectly, we would not need anything more than a DX2/66

It only makes sense to use UDP for network games, if a packet of data takes over 3ms for delivery and ends up being damaged you don't want to bother to resend for it, all you want is a stream of data, all you need to care about is which order it came in, and if it's a valid structure.
