Just leaves me quite stuffed for any kind of AEP flying action
start a thread in hardware and lets see if we cant get this sorted
Hmm, I think I might have sorted this. Whenever I start a new mission/game my sound seems to be fubared. I can hear flak and engines from the other side of the map etc, but it goes if I go into my sound setup and click apply, even without changing any settings. I *think* that when I get the restarts it has been without me "fixing" these settings and its only now when I've realised it. I've just flown 2 moderately long VEF's without a restart when changing these settings before takeoff. Will update soon enough saying its got naff all to do with it
...And heres the confirmation that it doesn't work But I deffo think its sound related, it usually happens when I'm getting fired at or changing flaps/gear etc. Gonna do a few tests in QMB with and without sound and at different settings, then post in the Hardware forum - gonna try and sort it out myself first though...
PS, Skii, been as though it was your sound card before I bought it ages ago, did you have any problems with it?? Overheating etc

can i ask whats the big blue
Luke - I had Monster sound problems after installing AEP - it was fine if I turned off "extensions" but then the sound was utter rubbish and very horrible... so I opened the Setup utility from the start menu.... the screen you get from a fresh FB/AEP install and set the sound to "Safe Windows 2000 DirectX settings" It's worked a treat and my games actually a bit quicker now... with proper quailty sounds
