So i have to compensate for it myself in game then ??

yep, just bind your keys so you can compensate the natural climb of accelerting and the natural roll of engine torque. (pitch and roll)
you sure it pulls to the left? always been right for me? :E
mine pulls 2 the left aswell
Still using a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback (Gameport), though I am tempted by the sound of that other Saitek one on the other page, mainly for the reason that MS stopped supporting the stick like 10 mins after releasing it.
Another annoying thing is that my P2000 joypad doesn't have 2000 or XP support (even though it's USB). I.e. it works, but not properly.

Anyone got any thoughts on the Logitech Wingman Extreme? £20 in PC World ATM and it feel pretty nice to me. Has an "8way hat switch" of sorts, throttle, and you can twist the stick, presumably for the rudder.
I'll probably snap one up if I don't get told not to, so where is the cheapest place to buy Forgotten Battles ATM? Looking forward to some dogfighting action.
Rich :¬)
the 8 way thingy is annoying (cyborg evo) as you dont look round slowley, its too fast and then cant see that you need too... also when in cockpit, your cant look up and round at same time, due to there being a roof, but if you go external, it still stops you, whereas with mouse you can look anywhere...
You can change the way the hatswitch operates. ATM it sounds like you have it set at snap-to mode, where it goes to a position as fast as possible. If you press f9 you can manually pan around with the hatswitch, like the mouse. You can then center your viewpoint back to the front by pressing 5 on the numpad, or assign a button on your joystick to it. I use a mixture of both the mouse, and the hatswitch (On snap and manual modes aswell), it just depends on the situation.
I tend to use the hat-switch in conjunction with the numpad keys - you can cover every arc adequately when you get to grips with it.

Thats perfectly normal - its called propellor torque, as your prop spins one way, the fuselage of your plane will try to roll the other way, all single-engine prop planes will try to roll in one direction, - Newtons 3rd law - "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction"Originally Posted by wedge22
Some planes are affected worse than others. If you look at the tail of most planes it isn't straight, its actually slightly angled to try to counteract the massive torque of a 2000hp engine spinning a 15 ft propellor.
Actually the slight drifting problem with Cyborgs dates back to the first game-port version I have where no amount of tweaking with stop it (I'm always turning left goddammit!). However at least in IL-2 it allows you the ability to compensate.
Otherwise the Cyborgs are superb.

Saitek will be releasing a new deadzone setting utility shortly which should solve that.Originally Posted by Vimeous
If you are on 98 or ME you can use dxtweak (if on XP dxtweak2 but the deadzone will need to be reset after every boot).
Recently replaced my Saitek Cyborg 3D platinum.... ( bit worn out with rather too many split S's, scissors, cutting the corners off 109's wide arc extending climbs, belching canon shells into Sanppers yellow noses . . .etc. etc.)... with.....
A Saitek Cyborg 3D platinum
Also the Cyborg does not seem to be made for left hookers like me

hey. i just got a Cyborg Evo , i kno it aint one for hardcore flyin games, but i aint that type of person so i dont need one . Just wondering if i could find any profiles for IL2 to use with it. I cant seem to get the rudder working, ive messed around a bit but in the end i just gave up. cheers
The Cyborg, that little grey rest for your hand you can take off and put it on the side to suit you, the throttle also comes off and you can swap that to the right side so you dont have to reach over, its a nice stick made for both right and left handed peopleOriginally Posted by wedge22
