    PE_Kras to Ground Control

    Guten Evening!
or as Del Boy would say... Au Revoir!
Well....Duxford is still with me...lliterally, as i got home my wife laughed and said i looked like a red pepper (sun burnt). My arms and neck still hurt
I'll be picking up my pictures tomorrow and scanning them the day after, then ill stick them on my web space were you guys can download them.
Ive also started capturing and editing some of the video and am exporting using a DivX codec. There is one problem with the video recordings, my DV camara has a 700x Zoom, and on some shots ive used the digital zoom too much and it gives an irratic shaking effect, so when you watch it you will know why.
I only have 200Mb free web space (plus.net) so if all these files start to grow, ill upload them onto PE_Papundek's FTP (100Mbit) where you should be able to download it or he could transfer it to your FTP? we can decide later.

It was really nice meeting you guys and gals. Hope to fly some missions together someday soon

    P.S.
Any of you guys going to the Sim Air Show thing up in Blackpool? (July)
Its the one that Comrade Oleg is due to attend.

    Welcome Kras,

Join the club - think a fair few of us are still suffering from the sun we caught at duxford, although thats a side thought at the moment I'm looking forward to some more piccies.

If you are short of space, there are a few of us that could help out with that, so just holla here if you need more. It was great to meet you too, and hope to fly some missions soon. Usually a few marlins on every night so just keep a look out

Unlikely that i'll be going up to Blackpool in July, got so many things including my Birthday to do

I'm not suffering too bad from the sun, we've just turned the heating off, I sit in the middle of the room and we toast muffins on my shoulders....

I'm gaggin to see what you got on your camera for the day... I had my appetite whetted by the fottage posted by Zak... wanna see more!

just finished editing B17, its around 10 minutes long but i can only get it as low as 130Mb so far (using MPEG2) am trying Xvid MPEG4 layer now. tried divX but quality is really poor when the shot is zoomed in.

heres an example of the divX problem: www.kingfloyd22.plus.com/hurricane.avi

ill report back later after a few tests

    *Edit*

Xvid makes the video look like my peeling forehead and i can only get it down to 100Mb...boy i suck at this

ok....i got Sally B down to 77Mb using MPEG2 codec, which seems to be much better in quality and in size than Xvid or DivX.

you can download it here: www.kingfloyd22.plus.com/B17.mpg

let me know what you think.

next....hmmmm modern jets+Apache or the Yak display team?

    P.S.
This was my first proper airshow, and i really did enjoy it, watching it with your own two eyes can not be replicated by watching it on some sort of screen. I feel by wathcing back on my camara it only captures 10% of the feeling, and when i loaded FB up i felt like i was playing some sort of cartoon game. So i really dont know how these vetran WW2 pilots felt in the heat of the combat, doesnt matter how many books ive read (The Big Show is a fav) or how many films ive seen or even emerging into a well constructed simulator.
And it is only now that i have the upmost respect to those people to that took part in the war from 1939-1945

I see what you mean about the Hurri video. Its just that frame per second issue really, things moving slightly quicker that liked and the encoding not coping quite right.....

    Downloading the b17 movie now

My arms and shoulders are no longer pink, but dark brown so I have a cracking tan line. Going to have to get out in the sun to even it out

Last post always get me too, though as an ex. bugler / brass band player I always spot the split notes etc. which means I don't appreciate it as much as I perhaps should.....

Me too mate... I still play a little, but that one on Sunday really got me cos not only was it played for a damned good reason, it was played dmaned good as well, and it was as much the beauty of the playing as the solemnity that got to me... I want to get whoever played that and buy him a pint
