Well mate my vote goes for 1943ish plane sets, Spits and Hurris v 109s and 110s would be good, with IL2s for good measure. But I know others prefer Yaks etc. 1944 Mk9 Spits v 190s and 109s would be fun also

But we could have 5 theatre of operations:

    - Eastern Front '41 -'45
    - Western Front ' 41 - '45
    - BoF & BoB 1940
    - Afrika
    - Romania '43 - '44

    Just make your choice

For BoB or BoF we could use hurries and french AI planes vs. Bf109-E4 and ai Bf-110

For Romania we will use B17, P38 and P51 versus IAR-80/81 and Bf109-G

No one wants to fly Arfrican campaign ?

PS: anyone knows if Gladiator was used in BoF ?

2 Quotes from a good website

Throughout 1941, as the British, Italians and the newly arrived Germans introduced monoplane fighters to the North African theatre; the RAF’s Gladiators were gradually replaced by Hurricanes. The last RAF Gladiator kill was scored there in September, a few weeks before it was finally withdrawn from frontline RAF service.

n North Africa Italy’s far larger army and air force in Libya posed a serious threat to Britain’s forces guarding the Suez Canal in Egypt. When Italy invaded in September, fierce fighter versus fighter engagements were fought over the Western Desert. The Gladiator or CR42 biplane fighters in use were only rarely able to intercept their opponent’s Blenheim or SM79 monoplane bombers. The CR42’s 10 mph (16 km/h) speed advantage gave it a tactical advantage over the Gladiator, although both aircraft proved evenly matched in manoeuvrability and firepower. In combat the RAF and RAAF pilots enjoyed a crucial edge in aggressiveness and teamwork, as the Regia Aeronautica pilots had been given less time in the air for training. By January the RAF had complete air superiority; the Italian army had been routed and much of their North African air force destroyed as their airfields were overrun.

Africa would be fun. Those overheating engines are a real challenge, and I have some great skins
