    IL2: FB dilemma

Right, Ive got some money, and im off to spend it.
    Do I A: Get IL2 FB
    B: Get some dvds
    c: Get another game

So, persuade me why IL2 is such a good game. Ive never played it, but i know lots of people here are into it, and im fed up with all the fps around now, i need a new net game. So whats so great about it over other games?

    Now, ....GO!....

Oh, and If i do get it, Ill be expecting you all to be patient and teach me how to play

    Cos this game is DEEP!

There's more hours of gameplay in this game than pretty much anything else out there.

Its a game where you can then go off in real life and SEE the stuff you've been flying in the game!

Its easy to get into the air on the easy settings, then you ramp the difficulty up to challenge you constantly.

There's more to the game than just flying and shooting... you've got to think about the tactics to use against other types of planes. eg. NEVER get into a turning fight if you're in a 109...

Online the community are very very receptive to new pilots and even total strangers will help you out.

Your first online kill is the most satisfying thing ever, as kills arent nearly as easy to come by.

Even not getting a kill still leaves you with the satisfaction of having had a brilliant dogfight, one of my favourite monets so far was flying full pelt with my engine overheating along canyons and valleys with Skii in hot pursuit banging bullets by my wings, I pull up hard and barrel roll over a ridge to zip down the other side, my prop diggin furrows in the turf we're that low! Eventually I manage to scrape it so close to the hill that Skii flew into it... ok, so no kill for me, but bloody hell it was exiting!

    BUY

    THIS

    GAME!

Yeah it was a pretty cool moment

My favorite was one of the first times I joined in on the action on Hats dogfight server. Me and Dak were chasing Hat in a Yak-3.

I closed to within spitting distance and let rip with gunpods, Hat instantly exploded and both me and Dak flew right throught the fireball - I nearly fell of my chair, Dak was gobsmacked having seen the whole thing from right behind me.

    Get it - 'nuff said

Gte it because its a greeeeat excuse to buy a monster joystick. Its also 1 of only 2 games that i go back and play time and time again, other being DoD. Have played with the Marlins a couple of times and they are allways up for teaching some new tricks, fav was skip bombing against ships. This is a strange game, I took me a couple of attaempts to get off the ground the 1st time (in real ish mode), couple of attempts to land in 1 peace, but takes weeks to actually shoot people down. Bombing and torpedoes are also a grin especially on a well designed map.
    Good luck

Don't do it unless you are gonna try hard.

Don't buy Forgotten Battles unless you have the ability to withstand a constant depression that lasts many weeks.

Don't expect to be able to defend yourself, and dont expect many moments of pride.

Don't get it if you have less than 512mb of memory.

Dont get it unless your joystick is wquite recent.

Don't get it if you value Sanity.

Do buy it because almost every other game you have is too shallow.

Do buy it because you wanna try your hardest, and are not afraid to ask questions.

Do buy it for the sheer, unequalled moment of pride when you land after a kill.

Do buy it because you want a real target in your life...a reason to own a PC and an internet connection.

Do buy it because you need a new challenge, and not a quick fix.

Do buy it because Trig can shoot YOU down and not me!

If you've never been into flight sims before, don't worry.

This one is nothing like MS flight simulator.

As well as all the single player missions and campaigns, theres a whole online world out there. I bought this game primarily to play it online.
AND the beauty of it is it plays as well with 56k as with BB.

Read the FAQs at the top, get hold of Hyperlobby and get one of us to teach you the basics.

If you need any further persuading, Check out the screen shots
