Heyo folks, I have a 4K screen but not the GPU to power it for gaming, so my games are played in 1080p. However, when trying to launch them Windows repeatedly tries to go back to desktop, and can take a while to settle in the game. It was so annoying I started setting my desktop resolution to 1080p before gaming.

I recently found out though what causes it - all it is is the scaling. No idea why, but that's what causes it. Simply change your scaling to 100% before launching the game and everything will be gravy. I dunno if anyone else is having this problem, but it took me a while to find the solution so it felt worth sharing here.
