    A big thanks to JaneyJane...

....for all thge help last night. That 'Counter Attack' quest has caused me problems for ages.

Running around dealing swift justice to theh pig people was cool as well and taking down the lvl26 Elite was the icing on the cake. I look forward to doing some more.

    Thanks again.

Many thanks for the compliment (I'm blushing like a big tomato!)

That quest is a pain in the bum (lvl 20 my bottom!) and your help was invaluable

Gonna go douse my face now.....

What changes did they make? I did it at about lvl 25 with another person around that level, died twice but still completed the quest

Didn't do it in the beta though as it was bugged and impossible to complete (aparently).

I've tried it many, many times over many, many weeks and solo it was just a nightmare. Even last night, with JaneyJane helping, I had the warlord, his two bodyguards, and four or five other centaurs laying into me. Luckily, he died just before I did and they all ran away. I could resurrect and go and get the bit of banner but it was very close.

Compare that to Arachnaphobia, which I also completed last night, where I managed to take out a lvl21Elite on my own (as a lvl25 myself) and the 'Counter Attack' quest seems even more ridiculous.

The elites are very viariable in how good they are, IIRC the one for Arachnaphobia is one of the easier ones, but go into WC and try and kill one of the lvl 21 elite driuds in there and you'll have problems. I think it's taliored to how many/what level people are expected to be there, they expect you to solo Arachnaphobia but not solo WC.

Arachnophobia is stupidly easy for an (Elite) quest, I did it at around lvl 22 or 23 with my mage.

Getting the head of that centaur in Ashenvale however was crazy! It's a level 28 (IIRC) bog standard quest, but took me at lvl 30 something, someone else and Redpiggy at lvl 48 or something and we just about managed to do it!! Crazy stuff. I have a screenprint actually of one attempt, I had about 8 or 9 hitting me at once, all between lvl 17 and 29, and kicking my butt in bear form.

yeah that Ordanus quest is a pain cos if you dont get the guards they summon what seems to be like 20 treant thingies - higly unexpected and a tad annoying as theres nowhere you can hide to revive yourself

I think that's the point I was trying to make albeit very badly. I could solo a lvl21 Elite at lvl25 but couldn't solo a supposedly lvl20 quest. 'Counter Attack' was particularly annoying for me.

What about the Lvl26 Elite harpy in the charred vale? Is that an easy or difficult elite quest as that's on my to-do list as well.

Two lvl 26's should be able to kill that harpy as long as you don't attract any others. I think I did it with three people around level 28 and it was very easy.

Yeah, the elite harpy quest isn't too bad. As Mblaster said, just pick off the harpies from a distance to make it easier, and remember the storm ones normally stay put, so you can't easily pull them out of the paths or aggro fields of others.

As a warrior, I hate it when people say that because we can't do it. I can stand there and shoot at them for half an hour but my strongest attacks are my melee attacks, I really have no range to speak of at all. Nevermind, I'll see what I can do. JaneyJ, are you up for some harpy killing?

Most mobs will come to you when you attack them from range, that is what I meant. If you go in close, you'll end up having 2, maybe 3, harpies on your back. A few of them though, the white ones called storm something, will attack you from a distance, so as a warrior you may have to get in close. If that's the case, be careful as you could pull more in.

LOL, no could about it mate - they're like bees round honey when I go charging in. I was running around there early last night for the exp and it was a bit hairy at times.

Sry fella, didn't notice that first few times I read the postings Thanks for the compliment. Took me ages to get it to link to my profile - someone did explain to me (Mr Anderson, I think) but I'm a bit dim and didn't really get it. It works now though so it's a clicky-clicky sig
