It's an idea that needs to be installed in my opinion. If Guildies don't like the idea they don’t have to contribute. Here's is my take on what it should be:

-We will send all spare money & blue/purple items to it. This way we are making an attempt to make contact with all other guild members as opposed to just people your level.
-We will also send rare trade items to it.
-Made in an officers name. It will be his/her responsibility to continually list all that's in the bank via a forum thread or via WoW Rankings. He will then make sure the equipment his given fairly.
-If two people want the same item it is either 'first come first served' or a /roll in-game.
-If the officer leaves the guild they will close the character name and leave the space for the next person to fill it.
-Inappropriate behavior we have no control over will be reported to the Games Master.

Yup i am all in favour of this

Instead of holding onto things whilst awaiting people to come online i can now place them in the bank so people can peruse at their pleasure

Im also thinking of putting various potions into it too - what does everyone think?

Potions will take up too much room even with runebags.... wont be long till its full......

Would also make velans life harder keeping stock tidy, and listing whats there.... also cause him grief having requests all teh time for potions easier to ask rp / az etc if we need a pot

I have updated my post to include a Wowrankings link asap, I will however update the thread to allow easy browsing and incase wowrankings is down/slow.

I dont envisage this being a problem as the bank will only be taking a small amount of items.

As long as its kept upto date and there's a proper request system then its a good idea. What i don't want to see is Velan going back and forth getting stuff out for people.

All spare money? What is spare money?? Got no probs lending out (not that anyone has asked me, and I'm not rich at the moment after having bought my last bag slot in the bank and so on).

Donations sure, but.....well I want to know what we are trying to achieve with this.

Holding on to rare things that people are gonna need, sure..a hell of a lot of stuff is random drop and if you're lucky, great, if not, well the guild can help out.

But what I'm not prepared to do is play the game for people. Lending out for mounts? Sure, as long as it IS a loan...it does make a difference, especially if you don't have ghost wolf/travel form/aspect of the cheetah...

No guys any monetary donations are entirely voluntary and are in no way going to be monitored/requested. This bank is mainly to help keep blues/purples in guild and help other guildies out.

Also any requests will be dealt with asap.

If people wish to donate money whcih can then be loaned to other guildies this is also fine.

Having a mount fund for < or = lvl40 peeps would be good

I thought that but if the bank ever needs to change hands it will mean they get deleted maybe x3 would be ok if it proves successful tho. If we send green items pehaps Velan could vend/AH the ones that are in there a good while?

What they REALLY need to do is have a guild bank deposit box, where we can all put in, and only designated people/officers can take out...seems easy enough...but maybe they didn't design it in...

That's what I said in the last "Bank" thread. They could've implemented a system like Eve where there is a corporation bank account and a corporation hanger which the CEO is able to access and give access to others.

At the bank we could open up our own bank or the guild bank and see what's in there, but maybe not take things out unless you have permissions given by the GM. Would be a great idea for all serious guilds.
