In a 190, while trying to tighten a turn, having traded all my speed for height, and while not wanting to hammer head, should I drop flaps at the top of a steep climb and then twist her round for a second swoop?

I am finding the flaps really hard to benefit from.......I see Dak and Hat drop them for a turn....but they tend to be in turning fights anyway.


What do I do with them? I dont need then for take off other than when loaded with bombs/pods.

I am determined to nail this baby, cos I am falling madly and deeply in lurve

I don't use flaps for anything other than a)last resort b) landing

Flaps are great for turn fighter, they make you turn tighter at a cost of airspeed, thats a situation you never want to get into in a 190.

Don't bother with flaps, just climb and let gravity point you back down for another go at him.

some 190 flyers will use flaps to just grab that extra bit of control at the top of a climb, I just view them as no use to a b'n'z fighter at all.
