Make sure you get a bag and a decent sized memory card! All those RAW files end up taking up a lot of space

Wait for the new Nikon low end to be properly released - it's the funny flip screen one (D5000 or something stupid) should knock down the price of a D60 a bit if you change your mind.

yep I have the A200, very pleased with it

Capable of nice shots (as are all the dslrs out there tbh). For me price and feature set make me look at the Sony but it was the ergonomics that finally made the difference
