    Camera Advice

Hi folks, I'm after a new digital camera and looking for some recommendation's and advice.

Typical things i will be photographing include; Tropical Fish, Aircraft/Airshows, other animals and the odd landscape, so i'd like something that can handle the fast movement involved with animals and aircraft.

A DSLR is way out of my price range, so i have been looking at the Fuji Bridge Cameras, specifically the Finepix S2500HD and the Finepix S1600.

The S2500 has an optical image stabiliser, which i presume is better than a mechanical/digital one, as found on the S1600, for fast moving objects etc?

I am pretty much new to digital cameras, other than having an ancient cheap one, and borrowing an EOS400 every now and then, so I'm not that clued up on all the terms involved, but I am interested in learning how to take good photos, so some of the features on the S2500 sound useful.

I'm not wanting to spend any more than ~ £150.

Some exmaples of the photos i have taken are on my Picasa Page, feel free to have a browse and make comments, especially if you have any tips or advice! - (some of the Airshow pics have had the auto levels etc done in photoshop)

    Thanks.

Some of our resident airshow experts will be along shortly to give you a condensed education in correct settings for prop-blur and so on.

In the mean time, I really do like THIS shot. Well framed, lovely light that picks out the details on the airframe...yup, talks to me that one does, well done.

The S2500HD is a pretty good camera... it'll definitely help you grow. Some nice pics in your Picassa album

    Re: Camera Advice

I have just found the S2800HD for a reasonable price too, and it looks like the only difference is an extra 2.0 mp ( 14 on this one compared to 12.2 on 2500hd)

    Finepix 2800HD

Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm just wondering if there are any flaws or anything i should be aware of before placing an order?

    Thanks.

    Re: Camera Advice

You will need a camera with decent autofocus especially with fast moving aircraft. On top of this with a power zoom you will find that it will take longer than with a manual zoom to change focal lengths.

Also,an image stabiliser will not help with a moving object so get a camera which has at least decent ISO400 ability. You will need a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the plane in motion and to avoid any camera shake.
