how to avoid the lens shade

    Hello photographers,

I hope you may have some suggestions how to use a lens shade.
I was using a 500mm lens, composed the picture with aperture wide open and focused to infinity, then added the lens shade, image was clear and shade did not seem to be in the way.

Has any of you used the lens shade and what is your strategy to use it without getting it in the way?

    Thank you

If the image is clear and the shade isn't in the way, I'm not sure what your problem is?

Re: how to avoid the lens shade

    Lens shade = Lens hood?

As long as it's the right hood for the lens and it's attached correctly, shouldn't have any problems

Agreed. The image will not load for me but if the hood i the right one for your lens, you shouldn't have any issue at all.

Re: how to avoid the lens shade

cant see image, but are you using any filters? I sometimes get those starting to appear if you nest too many on a wide-angle lens
