Cool! no problem at all man
What do you mean by SATA to 8087 does not work?
My case has a built in Hotswap bays with SAS 8087 connectors. Usually you would connect these up to a SAS host card, but I dont wanna do that as my motherboard has plenty of SATA ports. The way you connect this up (in theory) is with a 8087 to SATA reverse cables. This doesnt work if you have a SAS Expander, inbetween the drives and the host card (which enables more drivers per mini-SAS connection), only if you have a basic breakout of the 4 x SAS individual drive signals.
8087 to SATA forward cables would be used for a SAS host card to break out into SATA HDD/SSD.
The Cheap Deconn cables you pick up on Amazon are garbage and should be avoided.
That's good to know. I learned something new today
