    Best sub-£350 machine (w/out monitor)

    Hi

My little brother's home-cobbled Athlon XP machine has just given up the ghost after several year's hard performance. Unfortunately he's half-way across the country from me at University and not incredibly experienced with building his own PCs and I don't have time to pop over and build one for him, so he's looking to buy a pre-built machine around the £350 mark. He's already got the basics and will be keeping his screen, so I'm looking for the best base unit available.

I immediately looked at Dell, remembering some serious Core2Duo action they had going on a few months ago at around that price mark, but they seem to have ditched the Dimension range and have pushed up the prices.

Can anyone suggest the best machine at this price mark?

    Thanks

    Z

Best machines for the money are the Dell Vostros

    http://configure.euro.dell.com/dells...=D10V02A&s=bsd

    I'd spec it like this.

    2.0GHz E4400
    2GB of RAM
    No Monitor
    1 year base warranty.

With delivery and VAT that will come to £340.

Try ordering on the phone if you want a little discount..they will normall give you a little off the new price.

    EDIT:

    Perhaps I was wrong.

    Still Dell but here

You can get the same spec but with a ATi 2400Pro (rubbish but better than intergrated) for £320 delivered
