Support on overclocking again a new PC

    Anyone,

I got my new system last week and it blue screened over the weekend even though I've only installed MSE, Steam, and Duke Nukem Forever (awful game).

When the machine crashed it got stuck in a power up cycle whereby it would only start the fans and lights before restarting again. After 30 mins it eventually booted up but I had switched it from the PSU a few times. Then it complained that the BIOS settings had changed and it's now booting up again.

I'm dealing with support and it looks like I have lost the 'Overclock' profile. They have advised me to run various software and to re-apply the over clock settings.

Although I've built PCs about 10 years ago I've never over clocked and wondered if I should be concerned about doing this? Being unstable just means I can't do it, right? And should I get them to be doing this with all their burn in tests, etc?

Part of the reason I say this is because I'm extremely busy in my job and bought the machine for this very reason. Now 6 days in after a BSOD I'm having to the over clock, etc myself. Is this normal? Can I just get them to replace the machine with a new one? I've barely done anything with it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

    Yao

Make sure the bundle you get has some decent stable memory like Corsair or Crucial so you have plenty of memory for running all your programs and converting multimedia files at the same time, saying this i have OCZ in my computer running with a AMD Phenom 9500 Native Quad core an it's working great xD

A mild overclock shouldnt be too difficult to get stable and will give a nice performance boost.

They sent me the overclock profile for loading into BIOS and it caused another BSOD. It's a pre-built system from Scan, so they're picking up the system tomorrow to take a look.
