Actually spill proof is order of the day. teenagers? Net Cafe? Fizzy cans...

    Re: PC buying advice

Ok, pretty much sussed out everything now. Initially i've been told the groups we're having in to the centre are primarily looking at World of Wacraft, League of Legends, Minecraft, Counterstrike Source, TF2 and some RTS's like the Command and Conquer series. Games like BF3 haven't ranked as that important initially so we're initially looking to just see what interest is like and if any more youth groups want to come in and if they do we'll just upgrade some parts if we need to. (I'd want the most powerful ones too being a gamer at home but it makes sense i guess with the popular game requests)

If this build would run the games mentioned above and everything is compatible then for the start it would be good enough and with the cost it gives a good budget for upgrading.

Total inc. VAT is £423.67 and exc. VAT is £338.94

Somewhat below the £600 but if it is compatible and runs the games above we'll simply buy a better processor/gpu if and when we need.

Also Thanks so much for the help, hadn't really considered the mouse/keyboard being stolen/broke so just a standard cheap set will do for the start.

The Core i3 2100 should be fine as I use one with an HD5850 1GB.

    A few things:
    1.)A case is needed
2.)Buying the GPU from Pixmania is not a good idea. They are located in France and are terrible for returns if there is a problem. On top of this you can a much more powerful HD6770 for £5 more than the HD6750. This is because pay for postage from Pixmania and not companies like Dabs or Ebuyer
3.)Try to get a larger monitor. The 18.5" monitor is tiny as it is widescreen unlike a 4:3 ratio 19" monitor and the HL195 is only VGA with no DVI inputs. A 20" monitor is a starting good size.
4.)You need to add some RAM too

    Re: PC buying advice

The following parts are what I would get.

    Parts from Dabs

The graphics card comes with vouchers for DiRT2 and the latest Deus Ex game. The PSU costs a bit more but you should have more leeway for graphics card upgrades. RAM is also very cheap too ATM and is liable to rise in the next year or so.

    Parts from Ebuyer

    Keyboard and mouse from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Wi.../dp/B004LR878U

If you don't want the free games(which are worth a reasonable to buy) this HD6770 is slightly cheaper:

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/c...770di1gd5.html

You can cashback from TopCashBack too.

BTW,I assume you have a 64 bit version of Windows 7??

    Re: PC buying advice

Yeah >.> forgot to add RAM to the basket but it's just the one you suggested so it should be compatible, used the case (Bitfenix merc alpha) you recommended from the start too as i really know little about cases.

I'll find the 6770 on dabs and swap that over too so its al from ebuyer/dabs and amazon.

Regarding the monitor i'll poke about and see what sizes are available and try find a hdmi 20" one.

Just seen the 2nd post, Yeah we have any copy of windows we need so thats fine.

    Re: PC buying advice

you might need to buy additional case fans - the case only comes with one 120mm fan. IMO Add a 200mm top fan and 2 more 120mm fans (giving 2x120mm front, 1x120mm rear 1x200mm top). just get the bitfenix spectre fans - they are cheap and very quiet. (I use them in my machine)
