Question Looking for a couple of budget Laptops

    Hi guys,

Need a little help or suggestions for a couple of laptops, they will be for young teens - just strictly work, email, net browsing etc...no games expected, music, prob video (sd, hd would be cool).

Budget is short though, max 350 quid I think.

What kind of specs / laptops could I expects for this amount of money?

    Thanks in advance,

    H.

Dell Outlet would be my first port of call.

If you don't like Dell, I recently bought one of these for StepSon #1. But for a bit less by shopping around.

Just to clarify, is it £350 for each laptop or £350 for both? IIRC you can get quite a bit for your money these days for £350 each.

What kind of portability are you looking for?

Re: Looking for a couple of budget Laptops

Sorry guys, forgot to add - it would be up to 350 for each. We'll prob get the same ones for both teens.

In terms of portability, I guess maybe not too small so that they're having to view on a tiny screen (like a little netbook), but nothing more than 15" I'd say.

Weight etc, I don't think they'd need to be carrying it around at all, be mainly used at home to help with course works.

    Thanks Phage,

couldn't get that first link to load for some reason - any kind of Dell model in particular there?

The Compaq Presario looks pretty cool, I think it's one I was looking at initially.

Re: Looking for a couple of budget Laptops

It's been sold or something, they change all the time.

For £250 - very similar to the Compaq but only 2Gb RAM

    •Inspiron 15 - N5040
    •One Intel Core i3-380M (2.53Ghz,3M,Dual Core)
    •Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium
    •2 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (1 DIMMs)
•500 GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
    •8X DVD+/- RW Drive
•Display: 15.6in High Definition (1366X768) WLED LCD Panel
    •Graphics: Intel HD Graphics
    •English Genuine Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium (64Bit OS)
    •Back Up Media Not Included
    •Wireless : Dell Wireless 802.11g/n
•LCD Back Cover : Apple Red

If it was me I'd snap up that Lenovo. New Gen processor, 4Gb RAM and 500Gb HDD. Nice.

Yup Dell Outlet are very nice for some great value deals. I got my laptop there for £360 with an i5 2410M last summer. It doesn't disappoint the times I have looked on it for friends and family.
