Help on Reprograming Windows XP

Hello, i have a ASUS 4p4800-vm and using sata drive, does anyone know what driver i need to install windows, when it ask for the controller, i've check ASUS site no luck, or i don't know what im looking for, any help would be Great

are you installing by booting off the XP CD and being asked for a driver ?

I think it's a P4P800 dear chap..not a 4P4800

which version of XP do you have on the disc? I am pretty sure that later versions with the later Service Packs have SATA drivers built in.

Just let the installer run, I am guessing you are pressing F5 at the beginning to try and load a driver, don't, just leave it and wait and see if it finds your drive.

I have never had to install a sata driver to install XP onto a sata drive, and I have the original XP with no service packs.

Only time I ever had to use a driver was for a raid card.

You really want to use an XP CD with the latest service pack built in. This will include the drivers you need.
