Hiya
Welcome:
are you installing by booting off the XP CD and being asked for a driver ?

which version of XP do you have on the disc? I am pretty sure that later versions with the later Service Packs have SATA drivers built in.

I have never had to install a sata driver to install XP onto a sata drive, and I have the original XP with no service packs.
Only time I ever had to use a driver was for a raid card.

keep it simple, we are more likely to help if you don't inject comically out of place words into your questions.
