    New 2013 PC Warbird

Hey Guys Ive been building pcs for about 5 years, I dont know everything like ive never done water cooling or braiding cables. However ive built over 15 systems from AM2 and core 2 quad to the sandy bridge.

Anyway I want to build a 2013 machine next March for Haswell and the AMD HD8970. I Mainly go with ASUS brands for motherboards and EVGA and XFX for graphics cards. Corsair for power supplies and maybe case.
I have a budget of £3200 for the build as im currently saving and want this pc to last about 2 to 3 years all games on a 24inch monitor 1920 by 1080. I know that this system will be over kill, like a nuke on a ant.

But what would you get or hope to get for example:
    HD8970s in crossfire
    Haswell extreme
    Z87
    1TB SDD
    Corsair 900D
    32GB Ram

    Thanks guys

    Re: New 2013 PC Warbird

Very early to speculate, quite a lot could happen in 5 months. For instance, if the 8970 is out, would you want two in crossfire, or maybe there will be a 8990?

I mean, right now, there's only one 1TB SATA SSD on the market that I'm aware of, and the pricing is ridiculous. And as for 32GB RAM, what are you intending to use it for? 8GB is plenty for now, and 16GB is pretty futureproof. If it becomes a problem later on, it only takes a few seconds to put another 16GB of memory in.

Ultimately, if you're spending £3200, you can have whatever the hell you want. If you want CPU power, you can probably get an 8-core chip. If you want a big SSD, you could do a 2TB RAID array quite easily. If you want to blow it all on graphics, you could run quad-SLI. Until we're there, not sure how much you'll gain from speculating, unless you're just keen to dream

    Re: New 2013 PC Warbird

with that budget I'd have a superb monitor .. or several.. to make my eyes bleed with happyness.

a 2560x1440 minimum..... Maybe two tbh.

with that much real estate, you'll be using those monitors for a lot longer than 3 years.. they'll be great investments.

    two of these http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-de...-8-in-1-reader

Then... get the finest PSU available at the time

And the best case .. one you'll use for ever.

the rest is all relevent only to market conditions that week... ram.. cpu... I have no idea.

OMG...you are building a monster! Why? My advice is to wait...and see later what you can do with that money!

Yeah totally do what Zak said, if you aregoing to go totally overkill with an insane budget at least get a few decent monitors so you can put that power to some use.
