Laptops with IPS screens (or better)

I've been trying to find a decent laptop with a nice IPS screen that might be configurable more than the joke that is Dell's "Customisiation" which seems somewhat neutered of late. Sadly Clevo all seem to be TN screens still

Do post in here links to any IPS screened laptops you know of (Dell or otherwise)

Re: Laptops with IPS screens (or better)

Have you tried looking at the 95% gamut screens on the Clevos? Some retailers have them, and when I went from my Hanns G HH251 to my new (at the time) laptop, the difference was obvious. Not that the HH251 was a benchmark or anything but it was certainly not bad, and for the laptop to leave such an impression was pretty good in my books.

As far as other makers go, I don't think you will get much better than Dell when it comes to customization sadly. Because the other makers off the top of my head with particularly nice displays are Sony, Apple and Acer (only on the high end S series). None of which are very good at customization.

yeah I saw that, but it still doesn't seem nearly as good as Dell XPS15 according to the Anandtech bench. And IPS viewing angle is desirable

Pretty sure all the recent macs have ips screens. If you shop around enough, they'll be happy to let you know if they're ips as it's another selling point!

Some of the Clevos on pcspecialist have IPS options. I was looking at the Cosmos II 15.6" (IPS option) and Optimus V 13.3" (IPS standard) earlier today when speccing a machine for someone. The 15.6" UltraNote II also has an IPS option if you're on a tight budget.
