Macbook Pro Retina late 2013 SSD

When I got this laptop, it was on the basis I knew there was no way of upgrading the SSD in it, however..

I thought that they used an M.2 interface? If so, shouldn't the release of M.2 on Intel motherboards create an influx of M.2 SSDs and if that happens, do you think they'd fit the MBPr? Would be interesting to find out, and would make the laptop upgradeable (a little).

I've got a 128GB SSD in mine, and with my music database having increased by almost two times in the past month, it's starting to look a little small.

If speeds not too much of an issue, thought about something like this?

A good idea, but the main question was whether M.2 would be compatible.

Re: Macbook Pro Retina late 2013 SSD

From reading around it appears not to be an M.2 interface?

(I'm assuming the Retinas are a similar setup to the Air)

I'm still awaiting official confirmation as to whether or not this is an M.2 based solution or a proprietary connector. Update: It's a custom Apple design, not M.2. Since there's no PCIe routed off of the CPU in Haswell ULT, these 2 lanes come from the on-package PCH.

Shame, it does look like it could have been an M.2 interface. Why apple. Why?!
