Advice on a laptop/convertable

I'm looking to buy either a Yoga or Surface (well my work is), I have a few questions I can't seem to find a clear answer on...

Is it possible to get GPS sat-nav on either using a dongle? Would prefer maps stored on device to avoid silly data use.

Can I charge these devices in the car? I think the Surface3 is a normal USB charger but I think the Lenovo is a bit more along the lines of a laptop type charger?

Any pros/cons for either.

I have a surface pro 3, and it is utterly fantastic (go for the i5 though if you dont need the speed of the i7, the i7's overheat a little more easily apparently)
Both use plug in chargers rather than USB, the surface pro has a usb port in its charger for charging other devices.
Neither have built in GPS, but you can get windows based GPS receivers, not sure how they work in the microsoft maps app but i hear that there are gps solutions available for windows.

if you want storage space, go for the yoga... if you want the pen or more ability as a tablet, go for the surface pro 3.

do not consider the surface RT or the surface 2 vs a yoga, only settle for a surface if it is a surface pro 3. (i say pro 3, because the pro 1 and pro 2 have nothing like the build quality of the new one)


Note, I actually sell them for a living, I really like both. I went for the surface pro because its a little more portable, has a slightly nicer image and sound quality, but it was mostly the pressure sensitive pen that made my decision easy.

Cheers, I've just got the i5 with 4gb ram/128gb etc with the keyboard. Seems well built but glad I wasn't paying.
All seems good so far.

Good Surface - well balanced - i5 power with good SSD - I added a 64Gb µSD card with the films and music from my library to use with travelling - can do some gaming - Steam etc with mid graphics - so very flexible. If you do not like the "metro" tyle try - Classic Start Menu - it is freeware and can be set to bypass metro - you can swipe it in from the RHS, but if you prefer desktop view it means no "WIN+D" pressing.
