Lenovo Carbon X1 or the new Lenovo LaVie Z?

Hi Guys, I'm interested in getting a new notebook, one that is lightweight and is very easy to carry around. I read about Lenovo's new LaVie Z the so-called "lightest" notebook. And I was thinking if this is a good buy or not? Brand new price starts at $1,699.99 which is somewhat expensive. But I saw a site where I can get it for as low as $1409 http://thepcenthusiast.com/lenovo-ec...iscounts-2015/
I guess my second option would be the Carbon X1 (3rd Gen) which was actually my first option. Not to mention, the Carbon X1 is cheaper as well. I need something fast and very portable. Most tasks I do are documents and photo related stuff. Let me know what you think guys. Thanks for the input!

well, X1 Carbon G(3rd Gen) has been reviewed for example
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-....138033.0.html
(tend to also look there first as they review just about every laptop)

The older X1 had a very good TN screen. Good for TN especially compared to what Lenovo usually put on their Thinkpads (although HP's Elitebooks and Dell's business Latitudes are equally bad). While the new 3rd Gen X1 now has IPS. Not the best IPS but as long as you don't intend to do very accurate photo stuff it should a lot better than the TN options.

Whereas the NEC designed LaVie Z sound interest but I would want to read how they have made a 800g laptop and what kind of things were compromised compared to the already light X1 Carbon at 1400g.
