Question Advice on this particular PSU

I am building a new gaming pc, my first attempt at building a pc from the bottom up, and I’ve been looking for a while now at PSU's for said pc. I was just wondering if the Antec True Power New Continuous 750W PSU, currently on sale at SCAN (unfortunately I can’t post the url due to lack of posts), is a good shout. My build will be easily within the 750w rating.

I know antec are an excellent brand but what worries me is that this unit is so cheap compared with other modular 750w branded power supplies and that the description doesn’t state explicitly that it includes a warranty, on the antec site this model has a 5 year manufacturers warranty so could this just be an oversight on scans part? Also according to newegg this unit is discontinued in the usa, maybe that could be why its on sale?

Anyway I’m not all that savvy when it comes to the technology market so if someone could give me some advice on it I’d appreciate it.

p.s. also keen to know how long these sale prices usually last

what do you intend to build, as having a PSU that is too much power is just throwing money away and not having enough power is bad for your system

Re: Advice on this particular PSU

I've alredy purchased an i5 3570k with asus p8z77-v mobo and 8gb ram. I shall probably get an ssd for windows and a seperate hdd for my photos and miusic as well as the usual kind of peripherals: dvd drive, fans, aftermarket cpu heatsink nothing ott. I'm yet to decide on the graphics card but it will probably be a mid range card maybe a 660ti if the price is right but something around £200. Anyway the reason i opted for a 750w is just because im new to building a system and that psu is very well priced for an antec hence why i'm wondering why also wanted some headroom for overclocking and maybe an additional gpu in SLI/xfire later down the line. Hope this helps you help me
