    Be Quiet! CM BQT L8-630W

Hi i am about to puchse this PSU for a rig im going to be building in the next few months,
I was going to go with OCZ as they are a bit cheaper but am not happy with some of the reviews i have seen.

I have a question that i need someone who knows a good bit about PSUs to answer

In this review it mentions that the 3.3v and in genral the psu has loose voltage regulation but overall gives it a very good score, it also mentions it will not operate abouve 50c

    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/b...L8_730W/9.html

are these major issues or would these be only things i should worry about if the PC was constntly being pushed to the limts.

    thanks

50 degrees is top drawer. i don't think there are any psu's rated above that, so that's nothing to worry about.

also depends if it's top or bottom mounted in the case. bottom mounts won't get anywhere near that if they're sucking in air from outside the case, whereas a top mount in a poor-airflow case with lots of excessively hot hardware might get somewhere close.

    here's a good round-up of reviews.

Thanks for the reply, The PSU is the area im having the most trouble in making an informmed choice there seems to be lots of shoddy built psu's out there that could cause serious system damage in the sub £70 range, i dont really want to spend more than that but i also want to gaurentee as much as possible that its not going to go bang a few months down the line

also thanks for the review page very helpfull

yeah, it's worth taking a little extra time to research psu's. there's plenty of quality ones on that list, plus ones to avoid.

sub £70, there's the xfx 650w (core or xxx edition), scan have them both at £65. be quiet is a good make, their best offerings are quite pricey though.
