    Need PSU advice !

As you can see in my system specs I have FX-4100 powering R9-280X that too with a 500w PSU.

I am gonna buy the FX-8350 and an additional 8gb ram in coming months but I need to buy a new PSU next month and I don't know If I should go for 750w or 850w, so I need to know the right PSU suited for my future upgrades and in medium budget.

    Please help ?

I'd go for a good 550W unit. Something like the Seasonic G or XFX pro series are very good value for money. What's your current PSU?

Oh also I don't care if the PSU is quiet or loud.

Well I can't take a chance with going for 550W but I do like the "Seasonic S12G-750" and "Cooler Master GX 750" what are your opinions on these 2 PSUs ?

750W is overkill, but it's your money. The Seasonic is good. Some Cooler Master GXs are good, some are bad, I can never remember which, thus, I'd go for the Seasonic out of the two.

I know 750w is overkill but my graphics card's minimum recommended power supply is shown 750W and hey I only want 80 plus Gold certified ones.

    Re: Need PSU advice !

Cooler Master GX series is crap, including the new GXII units.

If you're only interested in 80 PLUS Gold certified units then why are you looking at Cooler Master GX? It is only 80 PLUS Bronze certified after all.

HEXUS has tested the card listed in your system specs. If you look at the power consumption page, it shows the whole system drawing 225W under Far Cry 3.
    http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphi...ual-x/?page=10

I think, even with overclocking, the difference in power consumption between HEXUS' system and your planned system, a high quality ~500W PSU would still be more than enough.
If you want to be able use a second R9 280X, then 750W is fine.

I only know of two online shops in India (flipkart & theitdepot); after consulting them I can't see anything besides the Seasonic S12G series for the cheapest, high quality 80 PLUS Gold units available.
If you don't mind 80 PLUS Bronze certified units then Seasonic M12II series (which are definitely loud) and Cooler Master GM series are high quality units which are cheaper than Seasonic S12G units.

Well I was planning to buy this "Seasonic S12G-750" oh yeah and the link you posted is the Dual X version of R9-280(225W) not R9-280X(250W - 300W).

If you are looking at a 750w unit then the EVGA Supernova G2 750w has to be at the top of the list. Fully modular, Gold rated, very good OEM (Superflower) and a unbeatable 10 year warranty is a lot of psu for £86.
