Power Supply Recommendation For My System.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to get some opinions on whether the power supply I have in my setup is adequate.

My system consists of :

Corsair carbide air540 case
i7 6700k skylake processor
16gb 3000mhz DDR4 RAM
2x MSI 970 GTX 4G cards (Sli setup)
MAXIMUS RANGER Viii m/board
2x 2gb sata drives and 2x 500gb ssd drives
750w evga psu

I have googled it and the consensus seems to be that a 750w psu would maybe be enough but due to the Sli setup I wanted to check on here to see if anyone has had any real world experience with psu supply issues and if mine would need to be replaced with something a bit bigger.

Your EVGA 750w (is that the excellent G2 750w?) is more than enough. Reviews show sli 970's to have a total system power draw of only around 450w. They are incredibly efficient cards.

also depends on if you overclock anything here, the 6700k would be the likely suspect for it, but yes, the 750 should be able to handle it

If it's a quality supply then 750W should be absolutely fine. I run a fairly healthy overclock on an i7-2600k & GTX 970 with a 500W unit - so the additional 250W headroom is plenty for another 970

I recommend a minimum Corsair AX860 for your build. In my opinion, you cannot have enough head room for a PSU.
