Whats on yout tshirt Stewart?
Why don't you make this an actual poll? I don't think it's offensive, though you'd have to allow for all variations.
And I know a couple of gay IT guys. In fact I work with one.
(Thanks Evilmunky)
Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet intakes.
this is quite an interesting question actually:
Is the IT industry populated by a higher percentage of gay people than society as a whole?
My guess, off the top of my pro-gay head is this:
Half the world is female.
I presume half the gay world is therefore also female.
COnsiderably......massively..... under half the IT world is female.
Therefore a low percentage of the IT industry is gay.
I may, of course, be so hugley wrong that I may implode with ignorance, but thats my first guess.
I have a hugely different question: Do gay men have better taste in style, colour, fashion and design, that straight men?
Cos I hate to say it....but I think they do.
Ditto: Do more gay men than straight men, prefer/insist on, having a suntan?

ahh..but as half the gay world must be ladies and so few ladies are in IT....
oh...I see what you mean
OK...i got that wrong!

I believe their is a stereotype of computer geeks/tech types having a little trouble have and maintaining any form of relationships.
Probably needs to be limited to registered members, and annoymous - although I have no problem with people being aware of my strong sexual orientation towards ... females
You aint gay if you aint got a sun tan.
Man without suntan having sex with another man = straight.
Man with suntan not having sex with another man = gay.
Thats how important suntans are in the whole gay\straight thing.
I do know, however, that both gay and straight men turn brown when exposed to sunlight, as the natural physiological response stimulated by exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunshine does not change if you are a gay or not, which complicates matters.
So during the summer, the only way you can tell if a man is gay or not, is by asking them if they watch Ugly Betty.
I don't work in IT, and nor do any of my (offline) friends. My best friend is bisexual- get him pissed and he'll admit that he prefers men overall (albeit that he's picky about them).
Two of my wife's best friends have been living together for ages and finally came out this year as a couple- and none of the rest of us were in the least bit surprised. One's a glam blonde and the other's a punky brunette- but they're both good fun...and loyal friends.
So, I know a total of three openly gay people. None of them fit into a stereotype. I would have a far better time at G-A-Y than my best friend- I absolutely love cheesy pop, he likes easy listening of the Sinatra/ Bobby Darin variety.
My experience of life in my 20s has led me to believe that the old statistic of 10% of people being gay is more or less true. Of course a hell of a lot of people are bisexual rather than simply straight or gay which comlpicates the picture.
I've never had any kind of sexual attraction towards another man, so I consider myself straight....but then Brad Pitt has never chatted me up, so I never say never.
I've seen you dancing , I can agree with the following statement.
I would have a far better time at G-A-Y
