Well can you blame him? Your question was so out of left field, it's left me wondering too... not about the question but about you and why you asked it.
It's a bit like strolling into a pub in a town miles from where you live, ordering a pint then standing up on the table and asking the locals what they think.
I can't quite get my head around it. I mean, HEXUS, the technology news and reviews site is the first place I'd come if I wanted to discuss, in a contentious manner, the failings of the Portuguese police and judiciary and throw out the bone that the McCanns at the very least are culpable if not actually directly involved, which is the clear inference in your phrasing of the question... Yes, HEXUS would be my first stop too... it's so obvious!
(As you can probably see, though you might think my paranoia is in overdrive, my sarcasm sure as hell is too)
So you'll have to forgive us for all being more than a little wary of answering your questions.. in fact, I'd be surprised if anyone gives you a straight answer.
What Nick has put above is the exact reason i didnt answer (the last line anyway).
In my opinion, you have come on here asking questions that some people may not want to answer or feel comfortable answering.
I find it abit strange, that a relative nobody comes onto the forums then asks about something such as this.
At the end of the day, reguardless of what we say the media (maybe you?) will still twist and turn things to make one person or another look good or bad depending on which side of the fence you sit.

If I'm honest, I saw this post and fully expected to find an advertising link in his sig.
I'm of no opinion, on the basis that the pertinent facts have been kept from public eyes, and therefore any conclusion made without them is baseless.
That and it is entirely a waste of time, as since when has any government body listened to what the public thinks (and in quite a few cases, justifiably so).

You have came on here, a technology based forum and started asking about things that have nothing to do with technology, fair enough if you want to discuss these issues, but why not find a more suiting forum?

I am not happy about the persecution of Kate and Gerry McCann by the vultures on some of the forums I have visited. A basic tenet of any judicial system is that the accused are innocent until proven guilty. So far there has been very little credible evidence that the McCanns physically harmed their daughter so why are so many people pointing the finger at these two decent and respectable parents who made the mistake of leavng their three children for about half an hour or less while they joined their friends in the resort Tapas bar.
It would have been serious child neglect if Kate and Gerry had left the children and gone on a 3 month cruise to the Bahamas, but leaving the children for half an hour or less is not the worst scenario of child neglect. They were in a holiday resort that should have had far better security than this one had. Holiday Apartments should have been under CCTV surveillance by the management knowing that some parents left their children for short periods in the evening, which, incidentally, was the usual practice in Praia da Luz.
I still think that they killed her and covered it up... but I am always coming up with weird unlikely conspiracies... (Please leave my name out if you quote that in the Sun)
