Annoyed how the war on Iraq has increased racism.

Was angry this morning, standing at the bus stop at seven this morning as usual and I noticed someone had stuck hand written stickers all over the place with racist comments on them:
"Dont mind the lillylivered liberals, 90% of immigrants are freeloading"
AND
"Bomb muslims with pig fat, Mr Bush"

I peeled them off the stop but was annoyed and would like to meet the idiots who spout such bile.

the idea of comparing the racism hre towards muslims with fundamentalism fails to distinguish very important points.

1. Much of what gets pinned as fundamentaism is not infact fundamentalist, the continued violence in Iraq is not because Iraqi's don't like white people but rather cos the worlds biggest imperialist power is stomping around calling air strikes on goat farmers who look at them the wrong way. any rise in fundamentalism in Iraq is squarely the result of US imperialism, in the form of sanctions and war.

2. If the immigrants were walking around middle england armed with m4's and driving tanks, shotin up cars, holding road blocks and shootin protesters then such anti immigrant views may be understandable and have a real basis.

3. Immigrants are infact not marching round with m4's callin in airstrikes on local church groups and Mr Jenkins farm, instead they are serving our ungrateful arse's fast food at 4.30 on a saturday nite, cleaning offices, and generally doing alot of jobs in order to just get by.

The idea that this is a war is what the war mongers and racists want us to think, that way we choose a side and stick with it for good or bad. This is not a war, there is no fundamental clash of civilsations of western liberal values and Islam. This present imperialism and its counter fundamentaism are not natural they are recent constructs, Bin Laden and the Taliban did not falll from the sky they arose from US and Soviet imperialism in Afghanistan, likewise Saddam..

the roots of suicide bombers are desperation, hopelessness, not cos muslims enjoy blowing themselves up for fun or they have a natural tendency for the melodramatic.

this is no war it is merely imperialism with the possibility of retaliation, unfortunately it won't be one of Tony Blairs kids getting shot in Iraq or blown up in a high street.

We would do well to remember that u can not defeat terrorism by military force as militarism is just state terrorism which reinforces the original injustice which caused the terrorism in the first place.


im just glad that Northern Ireland didnt have oil below it or may be west belfast wouldhave been carpet bombed in retaliation for IRA bombs in London.

P.S. i remeber Noam Chomsky talking about how Islam was being set up to be the new threat to western civilisation (read capitalism) following the collapse of the USSR back in 1992, prophetic or just predictable???

Well, it sucks, but the real worry is not one man speading hate to a few people at a bus stop, it's the Sun and the Daily Mail spreading it to millions every day.
