Weird that they chose Princess Diana's name for it, maybe the American writers weren't aware of the connotations of the name in the UK/Europe? Or it's just using the name to court more controversy (and so media coverage)

They're just morons who want money and option #2 I believe is the correct one... media coverage.

He has a point. However, I would question the reasoning behind this. It's one thing to interpret the bible in different ways. It's another to rewrite an entire book to suit your needs. Especially a book such as the bible which is a religous text.

What next? Will they start rewriting the Qu'ran? The Torah? Once you've started it's a slippery path.

I'm an atheist. It doesn't affect me. But I think that it's taking it a little too far. Interpretation, yes. Rewriting, no.

I've emailed this article to a few religous friends of mine (one of whom is actually gay) and I'll post their comments when they reply to my email...

But the Qur'an is the unalterable word of god... nobody can rewrite it because it is under god's divine protection (according to Muslims)...

And by divine protection I mean if you alter it, you will be kidnapped and subsequently beheaded.

This is why i like derivatives

You can't alter the tone, so you just alter the perception of the tone. Language is a wounderous thing.

King James II described St. Paul's Cathedral as amusing, awful, and artificial. It was an incredible complement in the time.

Thought the same applied to the Torah and to the bible? Only without the capital punishment naturally. We got rid of that in '74...

EDIT: Wait a second.. this is in america isn't it... do they still have capital punishment?

That reminds me of the word すごい (sugoi) in Japanese. It's present definition includes:
    1. Wonderful; amazing; terrific.
    2. Dreadful; terrible.

A preview of Genesis is already available, in which instead of creating Adam and Eve, God creates Aida and Eve.
