I had heard about it, several years ago, and I think it's disgraceful .... but not surprising. I also know the area quite well and have friends living right there. I also have to say it's the kind of decision governments are good at, with the mighty dollar trumping the damage to the environment or, from what I can tell, most of the people that actually live in a very quiet and beautiful place.

I guess that's "progress". It's almost enough to make me vote Green.

I've not seen the film, but I do live in the area.

Support for the golf course is split, personally I'm for it, but then I do tend to favour development over conservation.
