Lol, my pleasure. After all, if it was easy, where would the excitement of debate be?

I agree, the justice system isn't perfect and has many shortcomings. I think many of the shortfalls have been highlighted recently with ease of which information can now be gained, and the system needs updating accordingly.

Topic for a nother debate? Oh, no... we agree on this one... damn!

I find Matthew Wright to be the most annoying person on telly, along side with Terry (not sure what his surname is), from Turn on Terry.

Well boo hoo. Maybe he'll have to go and get a real job like the rest of us. Yeah, it's a shame if he's been (effectively) slandered, but do I have any sympathy for a man who earned 10 or 20 times as much an hour as me for doing a piss easy job? I do not. Has he got 10-20 times my talent? No. So tough. Back to the real world bitch. Or not as the case may be.

Having said that, I do believe people accused of rape (or similarly emotive crimes) should have their identities protected. The successful conviction rate for rape in this country is something like 10 or 15%, and that is an absolute disgrace. I believe that not protecting the identities of people accused of rape does decrease the chances of a succesful conviction.

I'm not a violent person and I'd like nothing more than to have faith in the ability of the police and the CPS to catch and succesfully prosecute criminals. Still, if I happened across a rape in progress while walking through a back alley, and I knew I had the rapist bang to rights, I'd be half inclined to castrate them or snap their neck on the spot, given the 15% chance of conviction. I'd be doing the world a favour.

So, if you were offered the same job, you'd turn it down on the grounds of being paid too much ?. And what the hell does his pay rate have to do with how much sympathy someone gets over a situation like being accused of rape ?

Maybe you'd like to define "real job" to ?

No, I'm not stupid, of course I'd take it. I'd accept though that I was getting a crazy amount of money for doing something piss easy and I'd be philosophical if it all went wrong.

Well, I never said that he doesn't deserve any sympathy, but that I don't give a toss about his career as a presenter of crap TV.

Maybe you'd like to define "real job" to ?
Sure, I'd say it was doing something useful and constructive, rather than helping to rot the brains of the populace with daytime TV.
